About Us

“Hi there everyone“, I thought an introduction might be in order so you can get to know a bit about us.

St-Augustine-Travel-Guide.com is truly a family endeavor. We are Jim, Mike, Chris, Jess and myself, Lynn. Having lived here, raised our family here and worked in tourism here; we feel qualified to bring you the best that St. Augustine Florida has to offer.

Jim is almost a native. His family moved here when he was barely in sixth grade and has loved it ever since. His very first job was washing the sightseeing trains on Saturday mornings. Little did he know one day he would become President of the company!

Jim was the President of the St. Augustine Sightseeing Trains for six years. He also served as Chairman of the County Visitors and Convention Bureau, Treasurer of the St. Augustine Attractions Association, and served on the Board of Directors of the Florida Attractions Association.

Mike, Chris and Jessica are our children and offer various contributions to the site. They have been to all the attractions, eaten at many of the restaurants, fished the waterways, hiked the parks, and surfed the waves. They know St. Augustine.

Update - Fall 2009: Mike is now living and working in Charleston, S.C., Chris is in Washington D.C. and Jess is in Jacksonville. They still offer their help and suggestions, just from a bit further away. I am truly grateful for their help.

I’m Lynn and I have lived in St. Augustine for 19 wonderful years. I am the webmaster of the family and I love building this web site. You can read all about my website story here. It has been a wonderful journey that I love to share.

I am an entrepreneur at heart and have dabbled in many micro-businesses over the years. From publishing a nationwide classified advertising paper for homeschoolers to opening our local farmers’ market; I have stayed busy.

Jim and I also are currently working artists. We create handcrafted driftwood birds and travel to shows throughout the southeast. As soon as folks realize we are from St. Augustine we get questions? “What do we do?” “Where do we eat?” etc, etc. So, I decided to create St-Augustine-Travel-Guide.com to help answer all those questions.

I don’t think most people realize just how much St. Augustine has to offer our visitors. There is enough to keep you busy for several days or if you would rather just relax, you can do that too.

Be sure to sign up for our monthly newsletter,“St. Augustine Traveler’s Tidbits“, for news and updates that I’m sure you will find of interest.
