Celebrate the New Year in St. Augustine!
The Beach Blast Off at St. Augustine Beach is a great place to start. You find several local restaurants competing in the Fire and Ice Chili Cook-Off from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., New Year's Eve at the St. Augustine Beach Pier. At 8:30 p.m. the Fireworks begin then enjoy the bands, karaoke and a family friendly dance party. Admission is free!
The St. Augustine Lighthouse will be offering a very special view of the New Year's Eve Blue Moon. Climb to the top of the Lighthouse for the best view of this rare sight along with a champagne toast and hors d'oeuvres. 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. On New Year's Day watch the sunrise over the Atlantic ocean from atop the Lighthouse from 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.. Ring in the New Year, St. Augustine Lighthouse style. Tickets - New Year's Eve $80.00 per person, New Year's Day - $50.00 per person. Reservations required.
For all the art lovers, the St. Augustine Art Association is sponsoring an Art and Architecture Walking Tour. As you walk along St. Augustine's historic streets your host Elizabeth Gessner will bring to life the story of St. Augustine from colonial times up through the Gilded Age. The tour begins at 22 Marine St. Reservations are required. Tickets $10.00 per person. 824-2310
The Flagler College New Year's Eve Ball will be held in the historic Dining Hall. The perfect setting for an elegant evening. The ball is hosted by the President's Society of Flagler College with all proceeds benefiting the Flagler College Scholarship Fund. This year's theme, "Southern Gourmet", offers delectible tastes and treats of the South. Includes dinner and desert buffet, open bar, heavy hor d'oeuvers, a breakfast buffet and champagne toast at midnight.
