Jim is a very accomplished woodworker and has perfected his craft over the past five years. He cuts and carves, one bird at a time, on his band saw. Then, he weathers the birds bringing out the beautiful grain that enhances the driftwood effect. Further carving smooths out any rough lines. Next, Lynn hand paints the birds. She begins with a special technique to lightly cover the wing. Next, several coats of paint are applied to the body. Lastly, she adds the beak which brings them to life. A glass eye is added and the finishing touches applied. The bird is balanced, a wire hanger is attached to the back then they are ready to hang at your home, inside or out. Every bird is unique and just a bit different from all the rest. One thing that is certain, when a Handcrafted Driftwood Birds graces your wall it is sure to bring a smile to everyone who passes by.
