St. Augustine Eco Tours

Rigid hull inflatable boat.
St. Augustine Eco Tours

St. Augustine Eco Tours provides private excursions aboard their rigid hull inflatable boat. I had never heard of this type of boat before but it seems to be the perfect craft for viewing wildlife at eye level and is extremely safe and stable.

On the tours, passengers often see bottlenose dolphin, a wide variety of birds, and occasionally even a manatee or sea turtle.

Although there is no guarantee, you are sure to see an interesting array of wildlife within the saltwater marshes, oyster beds, and small islands with tropical palm trees and bright flowers.

Captain Zach McKenna (USCG licensed) is a certified and experienced naturalist. He'll take you on a private boat tour (up to six passengers) to explore the local estuaries and wildlife firsthand. You will absolutely love these one and a half hour trips that have come to be their most popular tours.

You may prefer their two-hour guided kayak tour. No experience is necessary, as the first part of this tour is a brief paddling clinic, to insure that you're comfortable. You'll paddle under the Bridge of Lions, past the Fort to the saltwater marshes near the historic mission grounds.

An up close and personal view.
