Now, let me share a little secret; if you don't feel like driving into St. Augustine to see the sites, you (or your desk clerk) can call the Old Town Trolley's (green trolley's) or the Sightseeing Trains (red trains) and they will send a shuttle to pick you up and bring you into town to their station.
From there you can ride the trolley or train around the city, have a narrated tour, step off; visit, eat, or shop and then hop back on again and continue around.
At the end of the day they will return you back to wherever you are staying. Oh, one other thing, the tickets are good for three days. What a terrific deal!
Important Note - make sure you are back at the station before they close or you might have a l-o-n-g walk back.

Our beaches here on Anastasia Island are wide with plenty of room for everyone even on a crowded summer's day.
You'll find all sorts of shells and maybe if you're lucky a sharks tooth or two.
Many different types of shore birds will join you as they hunt and peck for their dinner.
You'll see a wide variety of gulls, terns, sandpipers, egrets, and bitterns. Be sure to take your bird book along so you can identify what you see.
Snowy Egret fishing for his dinner.
During the summer months giant sea turtles nest along the shore. Volunteers mark the nests so the eggs are not disturbed and the babies can hatch.
To make life a bit easier for the fledgling turtles the city requires lights along the beach to be turned off at night. If you are staying beachfront be sure to extinguish any outside lights after dark.
St Augustine Beach Florida has a number of great hotels to choose from. If you would rather you can find a vacation rental or campground that will be just right for a relaxing Florida beach vacation.
