If you travel with your pet, our St Augustine Pet Friendly Places page will be of great interest. Pet friendly vacations are fun for you and you pet.
Find pet friendly hotels in Florida and pet friendly Florida beaches, right here in Saint Augustine. We’ll share local restaurants, things to do, and attractions that welcome you and your pet. And, just in case you have a pet emergency, our favorite St. Augustine veterinarians.
We also have wonderful doggy and kitty day care facilities in the event you would like to spend a day visiting some of the St. Augustine attractions that don’t permit pets. And maybe, just maybe, your doggy might enjoy spending a day playing with some new buddies.
Just a reminder: please keep your pet on a short leash and, of course, it is only common courtesy to clean up after your pet and dispose of the waste properly.
I know most pet owners are very responsible and I thank you for your consideration.
One other important note: Please call and verify before visiting any of the businesses listed as sometimes their rules change. If you find something here that is incorrect please let us know.
St Augustine Pet Friendly Hotels and Inns
There are many hotels in St. Augustine, FL that will allow you to bring your pet. This, however, is where my job gets a bit difficult.
Most of the local hotels that accept pets are ones I just can’t recommend to you. If you have been to my lodging pages you know that my criteria for making a recommendation to you is whether or not I would reserve the room for my Mom. Well, I only found a few that I would be comfortable reserving for my Mom.
Here are the pet friendly hotels in Florida that I recommend:
- Casa Monica – $150.00 per stay non-refundable pet fee.
- Inn at Comanchee Harbor – $15.00 non-refundable pet fee. Very, very nice!
- Bayfront Wescott House – $15.00 per night. No cats with claws.
146 Avenida Menendez
(800) 513-9814 – (904)-825-4602
- Bayfront Marin House – same as above.
142 Avenida Menedez
St. Augustine Pet Friendly Restaurants
We have found several St. Augustine restaurants that welcome pets, along with their owners, of course. You won’t be able to eat inside due to health department regulations (unless you have a service dog) but you and your pet can enjoy eating on their delightful outdoor patios. I enjoy eating on the patios any time, with or without my doggie.
St. Augustine Pet Friendly Attractions
I have scouted around to see what attractions will permit you to bring your pet and there are several. All require your pet to be on a short leash.
- Colonial Spanish Quarter Note: only if small enough to carry.
- All of our St. Augustine parks allow pets as long as they are on a leash.
St Augustine Pet Friendly Day Care
Some of the attractions don’t permit pets so you might want to think about a dog hotel or day care for a half day or full day. You can visit the sites and your pooch can romp and play with some new friends.
- Pet Paradise

Saturday and Sunday: 9am – 5pm

- The Catsa Monica Kitty Bed and Breakfast

St Augustine Pet Friendly Parks
After a day of sightseeing I know you and your dog will be ready to run and play. I know just the place. There is a pet park located at Treaty Park. It’s fairly small but all the dogs I have seen there are having a fun time chasing each other and playing. There is also a one mile walking trail you could take advantage of, just make sure your dog is on a leash when he’s outside of the dog park area.
- Paws Dog Park at Treaty Park – a 3/4 acre playground with drinking fountains, fire hydrants, and plenty of open space for romping.
Hours: Sunrise to Sunset
1595 Wildwood Dr.
- Paws Dog Park at Ron Parker Park – small park on Anastasia Islandwith a fountain and play area.
607 Old Beach Road
- Paws Dog Park at Davis Park – a bit of a drive but lots of fun, even a pond for swimming on those hot summer days.
2455 Palm Valley Rd.
Ponte Vedra, Florida
You’ll have a great time romping on the beach out at St. Augustine Beach, but there again your pet must be on a leash.
St. Augustine Veterinarians
I sincerely hope this doesn’t happen, but you may find yourself in need of a Veterinarian while you are visiting.
We highly recommend St. Augustine Veterinarian, Dr. Norma Haupt, D.V.M.of Animal Wellness Center. She has been our vet for many, many years. She is caring and compassionate and Molly, our aging Chihuahua, loves her. What more could you ask for.
