There’s nothing like a great breakfast to get your day off to a terrific start. St. Augustine restaurants serve up a mighty good one, too. Here are several of our local favorites.
Theo’s Restaurant is located just off of US1 on King Street. A long time tradition for a delicious breakfast.
You’ll find the usual eggs, pancakes, and a special Greek Omelet on the menu. Their toasted homemade bread is at the top of my list.

Georgie’s Diner is a fun, bright silver, old-fashioned looking diner.
I have to tell you a little secret, I am spoiled! Jim loves to make me breakfast and I must say, his scrambled eggs are the best! But, we found Georgie’s, and they are a very close second.
Also on the menu is a wide variety of authentic Greek dishes.

Sea Oats Café at St. Augustine beach is where you might find Jess and I late on Sunday morning. Jess usually orders the chocolate chip pancakes with extra whipped cream and I get the Baby Bear – eggs, grits and toast. A great way to start the day. Breakfast is served until 11:00 a.m. – weekdays, noon – Saturday and all day – Sunday.
The Spanish Bakery is more for lunch than breakfast but if a cinnamon roll will do for breakfast then this is it.
I’m hopelessly addicted! I’ve been known to go to great lengths to get one, or two, or was it three… anyway, they are delicious. Get there early as they are usually sold out by lunch time.
