September in St. Augustine"Hello" from our home, I hope everyone has had a great summer! We've been busy making birds for our fall show season, as well as scouting around St. Augustine to find more great places to add to our web site.
I love these August and September summer evenings. Late in the day the thunderheads build in the west and make stunning sunsets. From pinks and purples, to oranges and yellows; they are beautiful. Don't forget your camera when you visit St. Augustine, you'll find great photo opportunites around every corner. We spent a few days sightseeing in Washington, D.C. with our son, Chris, Chef de Cuisine for the Dupont Cafe at the Dupont Hotel on Dupont Circle. (Whew, that's a lot of "Dupont's"!) He has a passion for the culinary arts and it shows in his creations. If you are in the DC area stop in and say "hello", you'll be in for a real treat. Check out his blog "A Chef's Journey" to see what new and exciting things he is up to.
As we were walking around the city we came across a tiny little garden. This beautiful pumpkin was sitting on a grate right along the sidwalk. Along with the pumpkin were tomatoes, beans and summer squash, all well tended. It was a treat to see.
We are smack dab in the middle of hurricane season. Nothing heading our way, thus far. Around a week ago, Hurricane Bill was off the coast which made local surfers very happy. Even though it was over 100 miles away, we felt the effects. The waves were up around 10'. Hundreds of surfers headed for the beach trying to catch a wave or two. September will find us keeping a watchful eye on the weather. Can I ask you a favor? If you have a favorite page or pages on our site would you help us spread the word? It only takes a minute, it's very easy and we would really appreciate your help. At the bottom of every page is our "Share this page" box with several ways to share our site. You can add us to your Facebook or MySpace, Tweet us or Stumble us, YahooBuzz us or Google us, and you can even add a link to your website. A "digg" would be great, too. We appreciate your vote of confidence and you'll be helping others discover the best of St. Augustine, too. Most of all, I hope you'll be joining us for a vacation in St. Augustine very soon. All the best,

What do you love about St. Augustine? Let us know and we'll publish the best comments in our October newsletter. Tell us, here. Your thoughts from last issue: "My favorite place in St. Augustine is the fort. Since my first trip to the city in 1953 with my parents, when I was facinated by the history and the construction, I have never visited Florida that I didn't take the opportunity to take a side trip to this beautiful historic city by the sea. We just had a 2 day stop over on the way to Disney with my daughter and her family (3kids) - it was the first time my son in law had ever been there and he was just overwhelmed with the history of the city, the Flagler story, the Fort, the Mission and all of the old houses and various types of architecture. Of course my wife and daughter we just as interested in the shopping areas especially St. George St. If you have never been to this lovely city, you need to take the opportunity to make it a stop in your travels and whether you stay in one of the lovely motels along the Matanzas Bay or stay in one of the beautiful bed and breakfast facility, I can assure you that you will have a lovely vacation. Also, don't forget they have great beaches right accross the bridge and a really neat fishing pier." Build Your Own Web BusinessHave you thought about building your own web business? If I can do it you can do it. I highly recommend SiteSell, the company I use to build this site. What I love, is that they teach you how to build a web business not just put up a website. How to be successful. Dr. Ken Evoy, the founder, really delivers. I have never met him, but you know what, he seems like a friend that really cares whether I and my fellow SBI'ers succeed. Dr. Evoy has changed lives! Check out My Website Story and see what you think. Ok, that's it for this issue - see you next time and I hope you have a wonderful visit to St. Augustine, Florida, my hometown!
